Job summary The CAMHS Crisis Team is nurse led service which works with children and young people who present in a Crisis related to their Emotional and Mental Health needs. Our service is provided for those who are up to 17 years of age unless they have a diagnosis of an Eating Disorder or Neurodevelopmental Disorder. We provide Crisis assessments within the acute hospitals and the community. Theseassessments are provided for those who are at significant risk to themselves or others due to their mental health, at risk of significant self-harm or in acute psychological or emotional distress that is causing them to not be able to go about their daily activities, such as going to school and looking after themselves. We also offer brief crisis support to young people and or families, who can offer support and strategies around managing distress, self-harm, anxiety, low mood and many other concerns. Main duties of the job To work with young people and where appropriate and necessary their families or care providers who present in Mental Health Crisis. To provide ongoing support, therapeutic interventions when agreed, practical assistance and problem resolution under the supervision of a senior team member. To support young people and families to implement and review risk planning and engage in relevant support services.
