Job Description
About The Role
The holder will report to the Managing Director. This is an exciting role where the incumbent will thrive on variety. With such a small team, tasks frequently appear that don’t fall within anyone’s formal job description, yet they are often vital to the success of the business. The holder of this post will relish the opportunity to tackle something different and will possess a wide range of skills along with an inquisitiveness to learn even more.
Though experience in the industry is clearly beneficial, it is not required; attitude and adaptability will serve you better than prior experience. You will not be expected to know how to do things, but you will be required to find out, and get them done.
The role will have a bias towards developing and documenting processes and procedures, but with a clear expectation of ensuring they are implemented and followed, rather than remaining a paper exercise.
This is a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of the business and the holder will be expected to form part of the business’ succession plan for further development.
Typical projects may include: setting up IT systems (e.g. CRM) to improve business efficiency; introduction of new products – setting up master data as well as the physical manufacturing facility; developing and rolling out stakeholder training programmes; developing a fully-integrated ERP system; evaluating investment opportunities; automating repetitive tasks; and reducing working capital.
You will be part of a small but dedicated team where every member pulls their weight; you will be strongly supported and you will be expected to improve the team’s performance through reciprocation of that support. We truly believe that the team’s success is greater than the sum of each of us as individuals.
The role will be based at Q-Park, Bath Road, South Woodchester, Nr Stroud, GL5 5HT. However, given the nature of the job, frequent site visits may be necessary and a willingness to travel is required, including some overnight stays, possibly overseas. Flexible working can also be considered. Should the need arise to change your working location, you would be expected to move to an alternative site within reasonable commuting distance.
