The Role:
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and accessible maths lessons to pupils with autism (ASD) or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will work within a purpose-built school, designed to meet the unique learning and developmental needs of students, ensuring they feel supported, challenged and empowered.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver tailored maths lessons that meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and learning styles
* Differentiate lessons to support students with SEN, helping the develop confidence in numeracy and problem-solving
* Create a structured and supportive learning environment, using innovative teaching strategies
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
* Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages engagement, resilience and independence
The School:
This specialist free school offers full-time education, care and therapeutic support for up to 150 pupils with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans). The school provides cutting-edge facilities, including a science laboratory, computer suites, sensory rooms, therapy spaces and outdoor learning areas, ensuring students have access to the best resources to aid their development.
About you:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience in Maths
* Experience working with SEN students would be highly desirable
* A creative and adaptive teaching style to support diverse learning needs
* Excellent communication, teamwork and classroom management skills
* A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
