What skills and experience we're looking for
The team at South Hunsley School and Sixth Form are looking for an individual to work as a Cover Supervisor who will play a vital role in supporting our students by ensuring they are provided with high quality teaching and learning or targeted support when a member of staff is absent or unavailable.
The role could be an excellentopportunity for those who are aspiring to train to teach in the future or for those who are looking to work within the education sector without the additional planning and marking that comes with teaching. Those looking to make a career change may also find cover supervising an excellent opportunity to work within a school setting.
What does the role involve?
You will be supervising classes in the absence of their subject teacher and providing support to departmental colleagues and teams.
The working hours are from 08:25am to 15:30pm Monday to Friday during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 31.25 hours per year, to attend team meetings and training and development outside your normal working hours. Your actual will be between £19,469.10 - £22,889.82 per annum depending on experience, and this will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, salary you continue to receive the same payment that month.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who has a good standard of education including numeracy and literacy at GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent, demonstrable experience of working with young people in an educational setting and a good working knowledge of classroom management strategies, as you will be working with classes of students to complete the work set by the teacher. Previous experience of working with young people is desirable, along with the ability to complete administrative duties such as recording attendance and communicating with colleagues across the school.
