About the role:
A new role for our charity, the Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering a high value fundraising strategy, cultivating relationships with major donors, trusts, and foundations to secure significant gifts in support of the charity’s work. Tasked with leading and expanding major donor revenue, this role demands a dynamic, creative and inspiring individual with strong communication skills and relationship management.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a philanthropy strategy to grow income from major donors, trusts, and foundations.
* Build and manage relationships with existing and prospective high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and key stakeholders.
* Research and identify new philanthropic funding opportunities.
* Prepare compelling funding proposals, cases for support, and donor impact reports.
* Lead stewardship activities, including organising exclusive donor events, recognition programs, and high-profile meetings.
* Work closely with senior leadership, trustees, and volunteers to leverage networks for fundraising opportunities.
About you:
* Proven experience in major donor fundraising, philanthropy, or relationship management.
* Strong networking, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to write compelling proposals.
* Track record of securing five- or six-figure gifts.
* Understanding of donor motivations and high value fundraising best practices.
* Ability to work independently, meet targets, and manage multiple priorities.
