Child Support Worker
Location: Community-based roles across
Compensation: £15-£18 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement
Shift Patterns:
- Long Day: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Waking Night: 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
- Long Day with Sleep-In: 8:00 AM - 11:00 PM, followed by sleep-in
Immediate start dates are available, with opportunities for block bookings (e.g., 2 to 5 consecutive days).
Role:
We are seeking dedicated Child Support Workers to join our team, providing essential care and support to young individuals aged 8-18 within the community. Working predominantly on a minimum 2:1 basis, your role will involve ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of our service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personalised Support: Offer tailored physical and emotional assistance, which may include aiding with daily tasks and personal care.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service users' emotions, interactions, communications, dietary habits, and daily routines.
- Activity Engagement: Participate in activities with the young individuals, promoting engagement and positive experiences.
- Financial Oversight: Assist in managing finances, ensuring accurate record-keeping of transactions.
- Safeguarding: Identify and report any safeguarding concerns to support the young person's development and safety.
- Behaviour Management: Address challenging behaviours and support individuals with various mental health issues and disabilities.
- Collaboration: Work professionally with local authorities, colleagues, and external agencies to maintain strong relationships and ensure comprehensive support.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and address challenges effectively.
- Emotional Resilience: Maintain composure and provide steadfast support in varying situations.
- Professionalism: Uphold a non-judgemental attitude, demonstrating high levels of integrity.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to interact effectively with service users, families, and professionals.
- Compliance: Possession of a valid DBS certificate (assistance can be provided to obtain this).
- Transportation: Preferably a driver, due to the geographical spread of service locations.
- Qualifications: A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field is advantageous.
