The Opportunity
We're looking for a highly skilled Risk Manager (Compliance) to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a key opportunity to strengthen their internal policies, procedures, and processes to ensure robust compliance with statutory, regulatory, and sector-specific requirements within the Welsh social housing sector.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Assets and Sustainability, you'll play a crucial role in reviewing, developing, and embedding robust compliance frameworks across the organisation. While the role has no direct line management responsibilities, you'll collaborate across departments to ensure our policies and procedures are practical, effective, and fully compliant with statutory, regulatory, and sector-specific requirements in Wales.
From fire safety to legionella control, this role spans a wide range of compliance areas-requiring someone who's confident translating complex legislation into workable solutions that make a difference.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Leading the review and implementation of housing compliance policies and procedures
2. Providing expert advice on legal and regulatory compliance
3. Conducting gap analyses and internal audits (fire, gas, electric, asbestos, lifts, and more)
4. Creating clear, practical guidance to support internal teams
5. Working with stakeholders, tenants, and senior leaders to co-develop policies
6. Supporting assurance frameworks for ongoing compliance
7. Embedding EDI principles and contributing to a positive compliance culture
What We're Looking For
8. A professional qualification in a landlord compliance area (e.g. BTEC OND/HND, BSc)
9. NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
10. Strong understanding of statutory housing compliance, especially in Wales
11. Strong track record in delivering Health and Safety/landlord compliance programmes with capital and revenue budget control
