At SWAAY, we are looking for a Qualified Practitioner Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team.
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, you will develop, provide and evaluate individual and group therapy for a small caseload of young people placed at SWAAY.
For over 30 years, SWAAY have been providing specialised, high-quality residential care, education and therapeutic services for young males aged 11-18 with developmental trauma, attachment difficulties and who have displayed sexually harmful behaviour. We are now widely recognised for the excellent therapeutic service programs that we offer and have contributed to research and literature in the field.
We work to reduce the risk these young people pose, meet their complex needs and help them manage their physical and behavioural difficulties, so that they can build healthy relationships and go on to lead fulfilling, rewarding and offence-free lives.
As a Practitioner Psychologist at SWAAY, you will work between our office, school and residential homes (within the Wokingham, Bracknell, Reading and Farnborough area), to support a small caseload of young people, providing dedicated and personalised therapeutic care.
As a Practitioner Psychologist you will be responsible for:
Conducting assessments, using psychometrics, interviews and risk assessment tools to advise on treatment plans
Adopting appropriate therapeutic models based on individual needs, assessments and case notes, to deliver individual therapy to the young people
Assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of group work programmes using evidence based practice
Overseeing and checking assessment reports completed by the therapy team
Providing supervision for Assistant Psychologists
Conducting research to evaluate the efficacy of treatment
Delivering/presenting training to both internal and external professionals
The successful Practitioner Psychologist will have:
Doctoral level qualification in Clinical or Forensic Psychology
Clinical experience following qualification
HCPC Registration
Experience supervising Assistant Psychologists and reviewing assessment reports
Previous experience working with children and young people is highly desirable
