Job Overview
Responsible for the investigation and resolution of any problems reported by users, including advice and fault resolution. Required to interpret and communicate complicated issues to non-IMT staff.
Help prepare and update documentation on the configuration, setup, and use of the systems.
Work on own initiative in the knowledge that other application specialists are available for reference, either within the PO or within iMerseyside.
Involvement in the preparation of information for meetings.
Accurately update all incidents in the incident management system in a timely manner. Assist in providing 2nd line support for other systems which are maintained by the System Support Team and thus reduce key person dependencies within the team.
Organise own work and be responsive to variable workloads and interruptions from other staff.
Assist in the testing and quality assurance for systems or changes that need to be presented to the Change Advisory Board.
Work closely with other disciplines within Informatics Merseyside including Programme Team, Business Change, and Training, especially during the planning, specifying, reviewing, updating, and upgrading of systems.
Work with end users to configure the system to help them with the way they work, initiating changes and meeting with users to work through changes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* The post-holder requires a level of knowledge equivalent to a HNC/Diploma, ECDL or equivalent, which may be satisfied by a combination of qualifications and/or experience.
* Prince 2 Foundation.
* ITIL Foundation.
Knowledge/Experience
* Experience of working as part of a team involved in Patient Administration Systems.
* Experience supporting Trust-wide systems (including clinical systems).
* Knowledge of working practices/areas where systems are used (including clinical systems).
* Experience of working within a project using PRINCE2.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
* Use of Microsoft Project and Visio.
* Awareness of NHS data definitions, standards, and policy.
Skills
* Experience of communicating issues to non-technical staff.
* Ability to contribute in workshops and meetings, including making occasional presentations to groups of staff.
* Ability to work unsupervised and manage own time and workload.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to react to changing requirements.
* Experience of working with external organizations over service issues.
