This role involves supervising and organising NMWTRA works programs and schedules to ensure the department delivers best value for works on behalf of NMWTRA. The team covers a wide area of Powys and bordering counties, with work that is both interesting and challenging.
* Support the Operations Manager/Area Works Manager through performance statistics and data trends to improve services.
* Help the team recover all costs from works for NMWTRA and attend meetings with partner organisations to ensure contract delivery and working schedules.
* Work with the trunk road contracts technician to maintain accurate records for income recovery and work schedules.
The post requires assisting the operations manager in preparing and maintaining works programs and schedules for county works in the North of the county.
* Hold relevant site supervisor training CITB SMSTS.
* Experienced in supervising works and carrying out maintenance or repair works.
* Hold traffic management M7 qualification and be an experienced qualified electrician (Level 3 city & guilds/ NVQ) with 18th edition wiring and City ad Guilds 2193 accreditation in testing and inspecting.
* HEA Qualified supervisor and NIC Qualified Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering testing and working schedules within the department and on behalf of external partners.
* Ensuring staff and contractors carry out works within specifications and deliver contracts within guidelines.
* Representing the authority at meetings regarding works programs and service delivery.
* Ensuring works are planned and fulfilled within health and safety guidelines.
* Working with the operations manager to deliver target in relation to LED lantern upgrades and efficiency targets.
* Checking HEA portfolios are up to date and within standards.
