Pertemps Daventry are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner for one of our established companies based in Daventry.

This position is responsible for planning and managing a designated region of our own commercial vehicle fleet, and working towards carefully defined transport budgets and targets.
Working in Daventry, the successful candidate will be part of a close team and under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Transport Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage drivers & subcontractors remotely.
2. Produce and deliver a daily fleet schedule by depot.
3. Review and develop the work volumes and fleet resource requirements.
4. Liaison with depot operations management.
5. Assist with other day-to-day operational duties and problem solving.
6. Provide a high level of professional service to ensure that orders are fulfilled and that excellent customer service is provided at all times.
7. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor and Office Managers.
8. Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require.
9. Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community.

12. Experience of KPI reporting to explain performance and target areas for improvement.
Qualifications / Knowledge
1. Proven logistics management including knowledge of best practice techniques.
2. Experience of transport compliance is essential.
3. Commercial awareness including knowledge of commercial and marketing drivers.
4. Proven experience of RoRo, Skips, Arctics & trains is essential.
5. Good knowledge of road transport legislation.
6. Must hold a Transport Management CPC qualification.
