Mechanical Engineer required to build automation solutions - factory automation machines vary in complexity and includes robots.
Applicants should be apprentice trained in mechanical engineering with experience in mechanical assembly ideally in special purpose machinery or as a toolmaker, CNC machinist or similar engineering discipline.
The Role
1. To assemble and build special purpose machines and robotic systems.
2. Build and assemble machines working to written specifications, CAD drawings, build manual, and supplied kits.
3. Review designs with Project Leaders and Designers.
4. Manufacture machine supports and guard frames from aluminium extrusion.
5. Fabricate and machine items such as brackets or tooling.
6. Build pneumatic assemblies.
7. Run up and commission machines, verify that the machine works correctly.
8. Demonstrate to the customer.
9. Feedback modifications made during the build and machine commissioning phase.
10. Help to solve mechanical problems.
8 hours per day - (07:30 - 16:00) Monday to Thursday.
5.5 hours (07:30 - 13:00) Friday.
Requirements
1. Apprentice trained mechanical engineer; mechanical fitter, toolmaker, mechanical assembler, fabricator, tooling engineer.
2. City & Guilds level 3 or HNC/HND level.
3. Possess machining skills (lathe, milling machine, grinding machine).
4. Experience in marking up, drilling, tapping, machining, measuring, cutting, and assembling.
Salary
£29,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.

25 days holiday plus statutory days.
Overtime may be available as required weekdays and weekends.
