Job Advert: Employment Solicitor Are you an experienced Employment Solicitor looking for your next challenge? Our client, a forward-thinking and innovative law firm with a strong presence in the Thames Valley, is seeking to expand its Employment Team in the Newbury office. Recently recognised as the "2024 Law Firm of the Year" by LawNet, they pride themselves on delivering exceptional legal services across various sectors, including Business, Real Estate, Litigation, Family, Wills, Probate & Estate Planning, and Conveyancing. The Role: As an Employment Solicitor, you will manage a diverse caseload primarily focused on respondent work, with some claimant responsibilities. Your expertise will encompass a wide range of employment law issues, enabling you to provide invaluable advice to employer clients. Key responsibilities include: Advising on recruitment, termination, discrimination, contract disputes, unfair dismissal, grievances, redundancies, TUPE, performance concerns, and disciplinary proceedings. Conducting employment tribunal proceedings. Drafting, reviewing, and updating employment contracts, policies, and employee handbooks. Advising on senior exits. Collaborating with the Head of Department and Corporate Team on transactional matters. Promoting the team and firm at networking events and actively seeking new business opportunities. Providing training and guidance to HR and management on employment law topics. Supporting and supervising junior team members. About You: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills: A minimum of 6 years' PQE in employment law, ideally within a commercial law firm. Experience managing your own employment tribunal claims and/or providing corporate support is preferable. A self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. An excellent team player with a proven ability to build effective and trusting relationships with clients and colleagues. Strong client-facing and business development skills. Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities. What Our Client Offers: Competitive salary. Preferably based in Newbury. Standard working hours from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.
