We are pleased to share an opportunity for someone to join the team as a Service and Breakdown Engineer. This role involves delivering high-quality and cost-effective heating system maintenance, compliance testing, and repair services incorporating a range of different fuel types including domestic gas, oil, and solid fuel to various domestic and/or social housing properties.
Please note that you will be required to drive to multiple different places of work. A company vehicle, tools, and uniform will be provided.
In this role, your main responsibilities include:
* Undertaking heating engineering & plumbing duties including reactive repairs, servicing of boilers, fires, and other appliances in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, industry best practice codes, and relevant legislation.
* Issuing notices and certificates required by the relevant regulations relating to gas safety.
* Attending appointments as scheduled and instructed.
* Providing information to allow records to be updated following service and testing and issuing Landlord Gas Safety records using electronic or manual documentation.
* Managing van stock and replenishments effectively and efficiently, and managing stock from authorised suppliers through the approved order system.
* Participating in the on-call system to provide 24/7 emergency cover across our property portfolio.
* Driving company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and ensuring that the vehicle is maintained to appropriate standards.
Our ideal candidate would have experience as a domestic engineer dealing with repair diagnosis and maintenance/servicing of gas heating/plumbing systems, along with experience working with the public and demonstrating excellent customer service.
They would also hold the following related qualifications: Domestic: ACS, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, MET1, HWSS1, CMDDA1, WREG.
It would be desirable for you to have some or all of the following qualifications:
* OIL - OFT10-101 (OIL PRESSURE JET APPLIANCES), OFT10-105E (DOMESTIC SYSTEMS AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY), OFT10-600A (OIL TANK INSTALL)
* CONGLP1 (LPG QUAL - CHANGEOVER NG TO LPG), PD (LPG PERMANENT DWELLINGS), RPH (RESIDENTIAL/PARK/HOMES)
* HETAS 003 (DRY APPLIANCE INSTALL), HETAS 004 (WET APPLIANCE INSTALL), HETAS 006 (CHIMNEY SYSTEM INSTALL), SOLID FUEL – HETAS
* BPEC
A Full UK driving licence is required.
