Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Executive will play a pivotal role in managing and implementing a broad range of marketing strategies, encompassing both traditional and digital approaches. This position provides the unique opportunity to work across diverse audiences while acting as the guardian of our CRM and marketing content. Key responsibilities include planning and overseeing The Student Room’s email and content calendars to ensure regular, engaging, and brand-aligned content delivery. By driving audience interaction and aligning with overarching campaign goals, you will contribute significantly to the success of marketing initiatives. This dynamic role also involves hands-on administrative support for a varied and exciting programme of marketing activities. You will bring fresh ideas to the table for campaigns, assist in their execution by creating impactful marketing materials, and monitor their performance to assess effectiveness and ROI. As part of The Student Room’s wider Marketing and Community teams, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues, spending time onsite to foster engagement and provide timely, helpful responses to user queries and questions. Key role responsibilities: Develop and execute the day-to-day operations of the email marketing plan, ensuring all activity is designed to drive key results, as well as creating new CRM journeys to drive on-site engagement. Work with the relevant internal stakeholders and clients to manage and deliver a content marketing plan, and work with the Content Design Manager on article updates, writing for different audiences, applying SEO best practices, and optimising for engagement across in-house and commercial content. Own the end-to-end execution of cross-channel campaigns to drive student engagement. Manage the execution of cross-channel direct response campaigns for clients, working with client services to optimise performance and revenue. Apply marketing knowledge to select the right channels and approaches for maximising student engagement and revenue generation. Utilise segmentation and personalisation techniques to enhance campaigns and drive customer engagement. Collaborate with product designers and the content team to ensure campaigns are on-brand and engaging. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of campaigns, providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Contribute to the B2C marketing strategy, staying updated with industry trends and competitor activities to inspire new opportunities. Maintain excellent communication skills, working effectively with data, product, marketing, client services, and sales teams. Be an active member of The Student Room community and use knowledge of the site and app to inform marketing decisions. This opportunity will suit someone who: Proven experience in a similar marketing role, covering traditional and digital marketing practices. Hands-on experience in planning, managing, and executing email marketing campaigns and CRM journeys. Knowledge of SEO best practices to optimise articles and marketing content. Strong content writing skills. Experience of monitoring and reporting on campaign effectiveness. Solid experience in collaborating with internal teams.
