The post holder will work in close collaboration with other professionals in assessing service users' needs, devising care plans, and evaluating outcomes that promote service user empowerment through the process. The post holder, with the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), will participate in the assessment and treatment to provide high-quality, individualised care, which addresses the needs of the service users.
The post holder will support the Charge Nurse and the Team Leader to ensure that the service is managed effectively and efficiently in all aspects.
Main duties of the job
1. To actively fulfil the role of Named Nurse for the individuals in the service area, providing a holistic approach to service user assessment, treatment, review, and management of packages of care.
2. To ensure that the statutory requirements of the MHA 1983 (amended 2007) and Mental Capacity Act are observed and applied.
3. To have the clinical skills relative to the delivery of care in the service area.
4. To have effective working relationships with other professionals within the service area, across the Strategic Business Units (SBUs), Trust, and other NHS providers and key stakeholders.
5. To contribute towards effective management and utilisation of resources within the service area.
6. To lead a nursing staff team in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
Gainsford House is a purpose-built, homely 12-bedded psychiatric rehabilitation unit. Gainsford aims to support people in their journey towards recovery from long-term mental health problems. Gainsford admits residents who have an enduring illness, and length of stay can be up to 2 years or longer. Gainsford's multi-disciplinary team helps residents to achieve their own goals, improve their skills, and increase their independence. Residents then move into supported or independent accommodation in the community.
