Job Overview
1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 49 weeks

Sexual Health Services provides sexual health care to people across the county of Gloucestershire. The Service covers contraception, sexual health screening and treatment, pregnancy advisory, psychosexual medicine, sexual assault and HIV care and treatment.
The Medical Secretary/Administrator provides a link between the Service and patients and also other health care professionals where appropriate. This post requires a self-motivated and professional individual with the confidence and ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team within standard operating procedures.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To be the key confidential contact point for GPs/patients for patients requesting a Pregnancy Advisory Clinic assessment.
2. Acknowledge and respond to queries via telephone, email and in person providing a high standard of customer care, ensuring that enquiries are responded to professionally and relayed accurately and in a timely manner to relevant persons.
3. Updating clinical records accurately on the Sexual Health standalone computer database Lilie.
4. Provide secretarial and administrative support.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Education to GCSE level in Maths and English to Grade C/4 or above
* NVQ Level 2 in Administration or an appropriate equivalent qualification or experience
* RSA Typing Level 2 or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working in a customer-facing environment (face to face and/or telephone)
* Experience supporting teams or managers in a secretarial/personal assistant capacity
* Setting up and running effective office systems
Knowledge
* Good level of IT skills, with experience of using Microsoft packages
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Knowledge of shorthand an advantage
Skills
* Excellent telephone skills and manner
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and confident in manner
