Maths Teacher – SEMH School
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a specialist school catering for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking an inspiring and skilled educator with a strong background in teaching Maths, who is committed to helping students develop their numeracy skills in a nurturing and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with additional needs and will be able to engage and motivate students through tailored lessons that foster a love of learning.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons that are engaging, accessible, and appropriate for students with SEMH needs.
2. Support students in developing their numeracy skills, helping them achieve their full potential.
3. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies that support student progress.
5. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions to ensure success.
6. Contribute to the overall school ethos, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.


The Ideal Candidate:

1. Qualified Maths Teacher with experience teaching in a SEND/SEMH setting (or a strong willingness to learn).
2. Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them succeed.
3. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire students in their learning.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. A commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
