We are in the fortunate position of attracting many new members to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health team over the past couple of years. We are proud of the developments we have been able to achieve together as a growing multidisciplinary team. There is an energy and optimism that we can continue to see our service grow and continually improve for the children and young people we serve, but there is a lot of work still to do. This post will utilise funding provided by the Highland Drug and Alcohol Partnership to increase access to psychological therapies for young people who use drugs and alcohol. The post could be taken up as a secondment opportunity.
The post will be supported by a Principal Clinical Psychologist who also works with this group of young people. A high level of liaison with professionals in partner agencies will be required, along with a range of direct and indirect clinical activity to support the psychological understanding of drug and alcohol use in children and adolescents. This is an exciting area of development and we are looking for an enthusiastic clinician who can help us with this task.
We are interested in learning about what you are passionate about, we want to benefit from your skill set, but also see you grow and develop in your role. We are supportive of CPD and ensuring we know your training needs identified through your personal appraisal and offering opportunities for post qualification training in specific therapeutic modalities.
The Highlands are a playground for those loving the outdoors. If you are not active coming here, you run the risk of becoming that way! There is stunning geography for you to explore but also urban amenities like Eden Court Theatre, restaurants, bars and shops in Inverness. If you enjoy (or see the benefit even!) of loch swimming, there are opportunities to go after work with the hardier members of our team.
A relocation package may be available.
Informal enquiries welcome to: Dr Lindsay Chalton/Interim Lead Consultant Psychologist CAMHS, Lindsay.chalton@nhs.scot, 01463 705597.
