The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer role are as follows:
1. Work within the NPI, Process Development and CI framework for both existing and new products.
2. Carry out Effective 8D Problem Solving.
3. Carry out Corrective Action Effectiveness.
4. Provide project plans, programs, fixture design and process instructions which can be used to create a conforming part, repeatedly, within agreed timescales, to an agreed cost and at an agreed rate.
5. Ensure the MRP / ERP Engineering system and data is accurate and up to date.
6. Create manufacturing processes - working from 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
7. Fixture & Tooling Design.
8. CADCAM - Autodesk Inventor & Powermill and other related software.
The skills required to fulfil the role of Manufacturing Engineer are as follows:
1. CAD/CAM and CNC machines.
2. Lean manufacturing, six sigma methodologies and process optimization techniques.
3. Hands-on experience.
4. Ideally familiar with AS9100 and ISO9001.
5. Understanding of metals, alloys and composite materials.
