Has this Procurement Manager role been created with you in mind?
A consultant has already been diving deep into the business (someone you could learn a great deal from)—an expert in his field who’s mixed with some very impressive circles. He’s been rationalising suppliers across several of the seven sites—some of which manufacture everyday products, and others that create something truly bespoke. Going forward, this role will support all seven sites.
Now, with a spend of roughly £30–£35 million, it’s time for you to step in and see where further savings can be made—without compromising on quality or delivery.
As Procurement Manager, you’ll be based at the Fareham site but overseeing procurement activities for six others. But this isn’t just about day-to-day purchasing—this is about strategy. You’ll be the one crafting the agreements, hammering out the negotiations, and setting the framework so your colleagues can go about their day-to-day procurement.
You’re the kind of Procurement Manager who knows that small changes add up to big savings. Whether it’s switching a face-to-face meeting for a Teams call or finding a quicker way to streamline an order, you’re always thinking one step ahead. Your role is fluid, you know how to prioritise, and you can spot the opportunities to cut costs.
This is a standalone Procurement Manager role, reporting to the Managing Director.
You’ll have regular contact with the buyers across the business, but they won’t report into you. That said, they’ll look to you to guide the strategy and ensure everything flows smoothly across the sites.
As Procurement Manager, you’ll be dealing with blue-chip suppliers and local independent businesses alike. Your reputation? Suppliers see your name flash up and immediately brace themselves, knowing you’re focused not just on driving prices down, but also on maintaining high standards of delivery and quality.
Why this Procurement Manager role is for you:
You’re ready to move beyond the day-to-day, transactional side of procurement and sink your teeth into the strategic side.
You see the opportunity in being mentored by a master in his field.
You thrive in variety—no two days are the same, and you love the challenge of working with a mix of products, from metals to plastics to motors.
You’re confident negotiating the big deals, and you know exactly where to find those hidden cost savings.
You enjoy having the freedom to implement your ideas and manage relationships across the board—from the UK to Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia. Maybe this is a step up for you, or maybe you’ve been doing something similar elsewhere and feel ready for a new challenge. Either way, your skillset will be valuable here. Ideally, you’re CIPS-qualified, but if you’ve got the experience and knowledge, we’re still interested.
Experience in manufacturing is essential, especially since this business manages everything end-to-end on-site.
What’s on offer?
A salary of upto £60k plus an impressive employee benefits scheme, including 24 days of holiday, an EAP scheme, and profit-related pay. The work setup? Common sense—it’s an office-based role, but flexibility is on the table.
You’re based at one site but representing seven, so a bit of give-and-take is expected.
