Job Title: SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

GSL Education Newcastle branch have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school in South Shields. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a difference in the lives of students, helping them achieve their potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
As a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting them with their academic and personal development. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are looking to gain experience in a school setting and work closely with SEN students.
Responsibilities of a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant:
* Support students with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom and during extracurricular activities
* Assist the teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
* Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who have varying needs
* Help implement individual learning plans tailored to each student’s requirements
* Encourage and promote positive behaviour and social interaction among students
* Provide feedback to the teacher on student progress and any concerns
Requirements for a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant:
* A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field
* A strong desire to support students with SEN
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning
* An understanding of the challenges students with special educational needs (SEN) may face
* Previous experience working with children (preferred but not essential)
