South Hornchurch Medical Practice is a doctors surgery in Rainham who are offering a wonderful opportunity to join their friendly Reception team. Level 3 apprenticeship.
Hours Monday to Friday – shifts are 7.45am-12.45pm and 1.30pm-6.30pm. Hours will be agreed with the manager. Lunch is half an hour unpaid.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* The duties of the role involve dealing with patients both face to face and on the telephone.
* Make appointments and order prescriptions.
* Scan and file documents onto patients’ medical records.
* Answer e-mails and liaise with other clinicians on a daily basis.

Training

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
* Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms.
* Completes tasks to a high standard and applies problem-solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints.
* Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time in order to successfully meet deadlines.
* Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report.

* Day release to attend college at Havering (RM11 2LL) or Hackney (N1 6HQ)
Requirements
GCSE in:
* English Language (grade 4 and above or equivalent)
* Maths (grade 4 and above or equivalent)
