About the Role: We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our busy Housing Standards Team, part of Housing & Regulatory Services, on a full time, permanent contract. Working as part of a team, this post will ensure the delivery of the Council’s statutory responsibilities for improving conditions and standards of management of private sector housing for residents of Maidstone, protecting their health, safety and well-being. As a strong team player, with a keen interest in improving housing conditions you will contribute to the efficient and effective service delivery of the team. Your priority focus will be ensuring legislative compliance in providing safe and well-maintained properties, including fire safety. Undertaking investigations and inspections of residential properties and the preparation and service of relevant statutory notices; considering other enforcement action where necessary and providing related advice and assistance to residents. About You: The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, IT, customer care and communication skills. You will need to be highly motivated, work well within a team as well as on your own initiative, with the ability to prioritise and complete a variety of tasks in a busy and demanding environment. Multi-tasking where appropriate, you will need to bring your proven knowledge and experience to the role. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of housing and fire safety legislation with experience and/or training in dealing with compliance.
