EXCITING PRODUCER-DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY: JOIN THE GARDENERS’ WORLD POOL AT BRISTOL’S BBC STUDIOS
BBC’s Gardeners’ World, the UK’s best-loved gardening programme, is looking for experienced Producer-Directors to become part of a pool from which individuals will be appointed as and when vacancies arise. However, please note that appointment to the pool does not guarantee work.
We are looking for PDs, both self-shooting and those with a track record of directing craft camera crews. Collaborating closely with the senior team, and working from locations across the UK, you will produce and direct creative, content-rich films and hour-long programmes. Your diverse and exciting duties will include managing complex schedules and overseeing the process from scripting to directing and post production – including overseeing dubs, onlines and grades.
Highly organised, with proven leadership skills, you will be responsible for forward planning, recceing new locations, liaising with horticulture experts, and line managing horticultural and non-horticultural researchers and assistant producers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and experience in supervising voiceover sessions with presenters, working closely with high-profile talent, generating editorial, setting up and filming VTs, creating online content, and helping manage the social media platforms. Experience of live filming would also be advantageous.
These opportunities are offered on a freelance basis and there are various start dates available for this pool. The role is Bristol based with some opportunities for hybrid working.
BBC Studios is committed to having a diverse range of skills, experience and talent working on our programmes, and as such we’re keen for applicants from underrepresented groups to apply, particularly those who are neurodivergent, have a disability, are from an ethnic minorities background and lower socio-economic groups to ensure we are representative of all.
