Description Position at Wavemaker Modelling Solutions Partner Reporting to: Head of Evaluation & Effectiveness Key Reports: Modelling Solutions Lead About the role : This critical role will be a part of Wavemaker UK’s Modelling Solutions team, which resides within Wavemaker UK’s wider effectiveness team. The wider effectiveness team is comprised of two key pillars (effectiveness and modelling solutions) which are very much complimentary in terms of driving effective media solutions across our portfolio of clients through the means of both statistical measurement, and effective implementation of strategic insight. Wavemaker Modelling Solutions is Wavemaker’s statistical analysis consultancy leveraging data and advanced analytics to help drive effective planning decisions across our client’s marketing mix. One of the key components of our offer is our statistical modelling solutions, the three main parts of which are WM Econometrics which focuses on understanding the drivers of a client’s sales, WM Vitality IQ which focuses on understanding the drivers of a client’s brand health, and finally WM Optimiser IQ which is our scenario planning and forecasting tool which uses the outputs of both Econometrics IQ and Vitality IQ to drive more effective planning solutions. These products allow us to provide recommendations that drive tangible business improvements to our clients. Wavemaker IQ is a rapidly growing team working across a broad range of clients of different scales and industry sectors from large complex advertisers such as Morrisons plc and Merlin Attractions through to smaller regional advertisers such as Vimto. We also work across a number of the government departments, delivering insight on efficient ways to drive behaviour change (as opposed to purely focusing on ROI). Additionally, the modelling solutions team looks after a number of other analytics solutions including TV attribution modelling, and statistical lift testing to provide more granular insights to drive media optimization as well as how sustainability and DE&I can form part of a marketing effectiveness framework. The Modelling Solutions Partner will be responsible for leading the Modelling Solutions team within Wavemaker. Responsible for leading and delivering modelling projects for a group of clients from initial client brief through to final debrief, collating and presenting the client debrief, and owning any follow up actions. You will also liaise with the planning teams to ensure the learnings from modelling projects are consistently applied to planning decisions. Additionally, the role leads the Modelling Solutions function within Wavemaker and is responsible for developing the Modelling Solution product roadmap, working with other stakeholders to provide new solutions to clients and managing the commercial forecasts for the Modelling Solutions products. In this role, you will: Lead and deliver econometrics projects for our clients, working with the Modelling Solutions Lead to allocate resource across projects accordingly, including leveraging capacity within the global hub. Managing all stakeholders to ensure that both clients and agency (including partner agencies e.g. advertising agency) fully understand the measurement framework, how to navigate and the role of different forms of measurement within it and the pros and cons of different analytic techniques. Develop an understanding of the drivers of performance beyond marketing levers to provide a broader view on the most effective approach to maximise client performance. Ensure that an effectiveness mindset is embedded within the client planning, delivery and activation teams, including making recommendations for in-flight optimization and forming hypothesis of the cause of over/under performance that can be further tested to improve ROI. Work with appropriate Wavemaker, partner agency and client teams, as well as the Wavemaker Modelling Solutions technical consultant, to design appropriate test structures where required that are both statistically robust and actionable. Identify any gaps in analysis techniques that would help answer key effectiveness/ optimisation questions and work with the technical Wavemaker Modelling Solutions, Research & Insight and analytics teams to develop new solutions to continue to drive forward client growth. Build the commercial and business case for incremental investment by the client in effectiveness solutions. Manage the internal delivery of analytical projects across the Wavemaker Modelling Solutions team, and partner teams when working in collaborati on. Lead and line manage the Modelling Solutions Lead and oversee the line management o f other members of the team Oversee the instruction and training of the more junior members of the team, both in terms of cementing their grasp of existing techniques as well as advancing their skillset through learning new types of analyses or tools. Lead the Modelling Solutions product roadmap including developing new solutions in line with Wavemaker’s wider data strategy Work closely with the wider Audience Intelligence & Marketing Science leadership to identify opportunities for collaboration across discipline to benefit out clients.
