Bank Residential Care Worker - Ofsted Registered Children's Home - On-Site
Location: Northampton, NN1/NN2/NN3
Hours: This role is a bank role. Shifts will include long days and waking nights.
Job Description:
To join a team offering a comprehensive residential service for young people with challenging behaviour aged between 8-18 years. Our aim is to ensure the physical, social, emotional care and development of the young people at The Banyan Tree.
We are looking for an individual who is able to work day shifts and waking night shifts.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting children and young people by focusing on their education, behaviour, and physical and mental wellbeing to achieve a positive outcome.
* Willingness to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring they have a childhood experience they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood.
* Supporting young people to attend appointments, liaising with doctors and social workers on their behalf, helping with schoolwork, and assisting with outdoor activities.
* Enabling young people to express their characters, feel safe, and enrich their lives through positive behaviours and planned activities.
* Reacting quickly and efficiently in emergency situations to ensure the wellbeing of the young children/people and others.
* Confidently complying with all regulatory requirements, i.e., Health and Safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, and Accident Reporting.
* Being confident with support plans and risk assessments and completing thorough handovers to the rest of the team and management in a positive, structured, and professional manner.
Person Specification:
* At least one year of experience relevant to residential care within the last five years.
* Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted and related legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Dedication to providing outstanding care.
* Suitability to work with young people. A DBS Certificate is a requirement of the role.

Pay: £12.69 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
Schedule:
* 10 hour shift
* Night shift
* Weekend availability
Experience:
* Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)
* Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (preferred)
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (preferred)
