About the service...
Waythrough was formed in October 2024, following the merger between Humankind Charity and The Richmond Fellowship. Together we tackle poverty and disadvantage within communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
North Yorkshire Horizons is a service made up of several key partners, led by Waythrough, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens.
About the role...
Based within our Northallerton Hub, and taking a multi-disciplinary approach, working with partner agencies such as Police, Probation, Prisons and other stakeholders, you will provide a targeted approach for people using the North Yorkshire Horizons service, from harm reduction, brief interventions through to structured treatment, ensuring that every recovery journey is tailored to each individual's priorities. This ambition will be achieved through working across a variety of criminal justice settings, such as probation offices and the secure estate.
In addition to delivering a range of PSI interventions, the post holder will also facilitate court imposed Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR’s) and Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATR’s), and oversee the prescribed treatment for a caseload of people within the Criminal Justice system. The post holder will be expected to work closely with Police, Probation, Prisons and other appropriate partners and stakeholders within office based, community and outreach settings.
About you...
* A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.
* Previous experience of drug/alcohol and/or substance misuse work.
* Ideally you will have some previous work experience within the criminal justice system.
