PE Teacher – Secondary School in Portsmouth. This full-time role comes with a competitive salary of £30,000 to £50,000 per annum and the potential for a permanent contract after a successful probation period. The start date is flexible, with February or April 2025 options available depending on the successful candidate’s notice period. Role Overview As a PE Teacher, you will inspire students to develop their physical abilities, teamwork, and sportsmanship through engaging and inclusive lessons. You will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, plan and implement a varied curriculum, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle among students. Joining a supportive and collaborative team, you will also have opportunities to contribute to extracurricular activities and the development of the department. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with the national curriculum. Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. Use innovative teaching methods to inspire students of varying abilities. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and tailored support. Prepare students for exams, ensuring they are confident and well-equipped to succeed. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development. Participate in school activities, including extracurricular programs and events. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A degree in science or a related field. Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 Science (open to ECTs or experienced teachers). Strong classroom management and communication skills. A passion for science and the ability to inspire enthusiasm in students. Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
