Reception is the first point of contact for patients attending the Urgent Treatment Centre. The receptionist will record demographics and other mandatory information, which will include clinical details on the joint computer system. They will act as a first point of contact for all patients wishing to access unscheduled healthcare and will signpost patients to identified service providers as appropriate. This will involve welcoming new patients into the service and providing support and guidance on the ED Streamer check-in system. The receptionist is the communication link between the clinical team and the patient whilst in the waiting room and will keep the patient updated on predicted waiting times for treatment, working closely with colleagues from the Urgent Treatment Centre to create a collaborative team approach to the reception cover.
