We are a long established independent garage, trading in Basingstoke since 1991. We are Volvo & Nissan Specialists, but carry out work on all other makes and models too. We are looking for an experienced and fully skilled and qualified Technician to join our busy team in the workshop.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 5.30 pm (No Weekends)
Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience)

Requirements:
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs
* A valid MOT Testing Licence preferable (but not essential)
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Minimum of 3 years workshop experience.
The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure and unsupervised on a variety of cars and light commercial vehicles. They must be capable of carrying out the repair process, from fault finding right through to completion, and all vehicle repairs and maintenance should be carried out to a high standard. Diagnostic qualifications would also be an advantage.
Based in a busy workshop environment you will be required to undertake all levels of car repairs, as well as completing standard servicing and fault analysis, using your own initiative.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
* Accurately and skilfully undertake the repair and servicing of motor vehicles.
* Work with the Service Advisor to facilitate the servicing and repair of vehicles.
* Detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repair.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with the Company, Manufacturer and industry guidelines.
* Fulfil all tasks to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
* Carry out MOT tests (if certified), to a high standard following guidelines.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyse job sheets to identify what work has been agreed, and liaise with Service Advisor if additional parts are required.
* Evaluate the condition of the vehicle, and liaise with the Service Advisor if additional work is required.
* Document completed job sheets, ensuring hours and materials used are accurately and appropriately recorded.
* Perform repair work as directed, within timescales, as well as conducting routine service work and MOT's (if certified) on all makes of vehicle.
* Observe, recognise and report on vehicle and component serviceability.
Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with Company, manufacturer and industry guidelines
* Ensure vehicles comply with industry safety standards when returned to the customer, and that any faults have been reported and noted on the job card.
* Ensure all health and safety, environmental and recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures are adhered to, focusing on customer needs and building upon the professional reputation of the Company.
Fulfil all tasks to the customer’s complete satisfaction
* Interact directly with customers when requested, to explain vehicle problems and the corrective repair taken.
* Safeguard and protect the customer’s vehicle and its contents, while being repaired or serviced, ensuring adequate protection is used in every vehicle during service and repair.
* Receive customers courteously, in line with Company standards.
Help the Company maintain its high standards of process efficiency
* Minimise wastage of all materials, oils and fluids.
* Undertake all other tasks and responsibilities as requested.
* Supervise and train apprentice technicians as required.
* Drive and road-test vehicles in a safe and professional manner with due regard to speed limits, road law and other road users and pedestrians.
* To use and maintain company equipment to the highest standards.
* To keep working bay, ramp and company equipment clean and tidy.
