Job overview
We are seeking to attract a Clinical Quality Lead within Shropshire Telford and Wrekin ICB. Reporting to the Head of Quality, and professionally accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Clinical Quality Lead is responsible for leading, developing and implementing an effective, robust and comprehensive clinical governance, learning from events, patient safety, quality strategy and associated work programme within the area of responsibility to mitigate against clinical risk, ensuring the delivery of a safe, effective and person centred service. We are looking for a highly motivated clinical professional who has experience of working within a governance and safety framework, who can demonstrate credible clinical knowledge as well as a diverse range of operational experience within a complex healthcare system. This post will require leadership, confidence, and drive to deliver improvements to outcomes for patients who need the support of the Shropshire region. This is a full-time position. The post location is hybrid working between home and office (Telford) with in-person meetings, visits, and events as necessary.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Quality Lead takes responsibility within the ICB for the influence, promotion, and oversight in the consistency of high-quality clinical standards of patient care in their portfolio. The post holder will monitor the audit cycle of continuous improvement regarding patient safety and experience. Key to this role is the monitoring of a robust clinical quality and governance framework. The post-holder will gather evidence to provide assurance in relation to the National quality indicators and clinical outcomes. The post holder will ensure that concerns are addressed in a timely manner and that learning is embedded in practice. The post will support operational and strategic delivery of quality oversight and assurance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• Provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to the development and implementation of clinical governance and oversight frameworks.
• Work in a supportive manner with provider trusts to gather assurance in relation to safety, quality, and patient experience.
• Benchmark the services against national and local trajectories and outcome reports.
• Develop effective ways of working and create strong partnerships with stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of an enhanced quality surveillance and assurance framework.
• Be the immediate point of contact for the portfolio areas reporting on progress and risks.
• Lead and participate in Quality improvements projects.

* Educated to master’s level in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
