Full time hrs (Part Time considered) Service hours are Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00

This is an exciting time in our Ophthalmology departments, as we are reviewing our services in line with the elective recovery and Getting It Right First-Time program, to ensure we are delivering excellent quality care to those patients with Ophthalmic conditions requiring conservative and surgical management, and those requiring emergency care
Main duties of the job
Our services include emergency referrals from the Emergency Department, urgent care centre and GPs, Ophthalmology outpatient clinics, minor procedure clinics and day surgery through designated Ophthalmic theatres.
Are you a Registered Nurse / ODP with Ophthalmic scrub skills? or are interested in increasing your skills in a specialised area? Are you a highly motivated, enthusiastic team worker, dedicated to improving the patient experience and providing quality care? If so, we would be delighted to see your application to support our patients on the Ophthalmology surgical pathway, primarily day surgical procedures and Cataract assessments.

1. Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or Registered ODP with current HCPC registration
2. Evidence of relevant post registration professional development
3. Able to make judgements based on evidence-based practice and translate this for use in clinical setting.
4. To be able to demonstrate understanding of current developments in the NHS and their implications for nursing and quality care for patients.
5. Interest in Ophthalmology
6. Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder manual handling of patients
7. Professional/role model Flexible
8. Good interpersonal skills
9. Ability to motivate others and maintain own motivation.
