Management Accountant Our Role We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Central Finance team. You will be responsible for the production of weekly and monthly management accounts and central monthly recharges. This will include profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flows, variance analysis, key performance indicators and supporting commentaries in line with agreed SLA and reporting deadlines. This role provides a great opportunity to get involved with business partnering alongside central budget holders. Key Responsibilities We are looking for someone to: Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries on a weekly and monthly basis Work with budget holders to produce the budgets and forecasts for central departments and various depots across the UK, monitoring performance against agreed targets and KPIs Provide accurate and meaningful analysis to the Group Finance Manager and supporting data to assist with key decision making, showing a thorough understanding of each department and depot Prepare and post monthly central recharges to contracts Support Projects as designated Ensure compliance with all financial controls, processes and regulatory framework. Proactively own and resolve issues including any business non-compliance through adopting a flexible approach and the creation of innovative solutions, which maintain an acceptable balance between risk, reward, and compliance Proactively identify improvements (through root cause analysis), making recommendations and successfully implementing new ways of working gaining the full support of stakeholders and colleagues alike Ensure the team always provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders Experience and Qualifications Newly Qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) or Finalist with experience. Accounting experience Intermediate / advanced Excel, Power Point and Word Excellent understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, applicable legislation and the statutory and regulatory framework Problem solving and analytical skills A continuous improvement mentality with the ability to challenge existing processes Awareness of Financial Reporting Standards and other developments within global accounting practices and the ability to apply within the company Network Plus at a Glance We Network Plus is an award-winning business delivering essential utility and infrastructure services for the UKs major providers of gas, power, telecoms, transport, water, and wastewater.
