We are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. You will support students with mental health challenges, helping them engage in learning and promoting emotional well-being. This is a temporary, full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support to students with mental health needs, both in and out of the classroom.
2. Assist students with emotional regulation and help them manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges.
3. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create and implement strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
4. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes well-being.
5. Support the monitoring of student progress and provide feedback to the wider team.
Requirements:
1. A strong passion for supporting young people with mental health needs.
2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
3. A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students’ emotional well-being.
4. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
5. No prior experience is required, but a willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential.
