As a Catering Professional with us, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of our catering operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve overseeing food preparation and cooking, leading a team of talented individuals, and managing budgets efficiently.
This is a pivotal role that requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate, influence, and inspire onsite teams. By embracing our 5 Golden Habits – Client, Communication, Customer Journey, Compliance, and Commercials – you will drive your unit to new heights.
This role is term time only, working 44.2 weeks.

This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/or Disclosure Scotland.
What you’ll do:
1. Control and monitor the financial performance of the unit and maintain costs within pre-budgeted targets.
2. Ensure the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals and breakfast at the required time to the standard laid down in the Service Level Agreement and to the Clients, Pupils, and Sodexo’s satisfaction.
3. Ensure that the Company’s accountancy, documentation, and administration procedures are carried out to the laid down standard and that the necessary weekly returns are completed accurately and sent to the appointed office on time.
4. Understand and maintain the standards and integrity of the service offer and Service Level Agreement at all times, including any agreed amendments.
5. Establish and maintain the Statutory and Company Standards in respect of HSEQ, taking action and recording as required.
6. Implement and maintain all Statutory and Company policies and procedures, communicate these to all staff, and ensure full compliance.
7. Ensure that all food is prepared with appropriate care and attention, particularly in regard to pupils’ special dietary requirements and Allergens.
What you bring:
1. Previous experience in the catering industry is essential, with a solid foundation in food preparation in a multi-disciplined environment.
2. Direct Management experience of a large single unit site – strong Leadership.
3. Strong level of literacy and numeracy.
4. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Clear and effective Leadership style.
6. Ability to analyze problems, develop opportunities, and implement solutions.
7. Strong ability to increase effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching, development, and training of Teams.
8. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
9. Computer literate and able to navigate Company systems and procedures.
10. Able to demonstrate a positive attitude to self-development.
11. High level of self-motivation and ability to act on own initiative.
