Job description
Morgan Hunt are currently working with one of UK's largest Professional Membership Organisation in their search for a permanent Governance Officer to provide a full range of high-level administrative support in the Governance function across the organisation.
You will be responsible for supporting the Governance Manager with Board of Trustees and General Assembly arrangements and the member nominations and elections processes and updating pages on our website. You will also be providing committee secretariat support to selected Board sub-committees and panels including preparing and circulating agendas, taking minutes and dealing with any follow up actions.
The successful candidate will be someone with essential Governance experience as well as experience of formal meeting agenda management, minute taking and attention to detail. Experience of working in a professional membership organisation or charity and would be an advantage as well as a good eye for detail and excellent organisational and communication skills.

Job Title: Governance Officer
Location: Hybrid Working (2 days per week office attendance in London)
Annual Salary: Up to £41, per annum
Job Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting and deputising for the Governance Manager as required
2. Providing secretariat support to various committees and panels and supporting delivery of General Assembly meetings
3. Preparing drafting, and circulating papers and agendas, write and distribute meeting minutes and co-ordinate follow up actions
4. Arranging and co-ordinating board and committee meetings including sourcing venues and monitoring budgets
5. Preparing briefings and reports for the Senior Executive Team, Presidential Team and Board of Trustees as appropriate.
Person Specification
6. Demonstrated experience of formal meeting and agenda management and minute taking for committees and groups
7. Recent experience of working in a Governance role and experience of working with Senior Managers or Directors
8. Preferred experience of working in a professional membership organisation or the charity sector
9. Must have good eye for detail and excellent organisational and communication skills
10. Must be a team player with a collaborative approach who is committed to the success of the team as a whole.
