Are you a commercially minded Procurement professional looking for an opportunity to play an integral part in leadership within a FTSE250 business? We are recruiting a Head of Procurement to develop and execute procurement strategies that are aligned with the group's objectives, ensuring efficiencies and regulatory compliance. Based in either Exeter or Bristol, you will receive a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.
About the role:
This key role is responsible for overseeing the entire procurement function, driving strategic, commercial and efficient purchasing across the group whilst also ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and wider governance for the procure-to-pay process. You will lead efforts to optimise procurement strategies and enhance supplier relationships.
What you'll be doing:
1. Developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with the group’s objectives, ensuring cost-efficiency and regulatory compliance.
2. Leading the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
3. Ensuring compliance with UK procurement regulations, industry standards, and internal governance policies throughout the procure-to-pay process.
4. Overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
5. Driving the group wide governance processes ensuring adherence to policies whilst also leading effective, insightful steering groups to deliver effective, strategic and timely procurement outcomes.
6. Establishing strong supplier relationships to secure favourable terms and ensure high-quality goods and services.
7. Utilising data analytics and procurement technologies to drive efficiencies, transparency, and strategic decision-making.
8. Monitoring market trends and identifying risks and opportunities to inform procurement strategies.
9. Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure ethical procurement practices and adherence to governance frameworks.
10. Providing regular and insightful analysis of spend and contractual outcomes in order to achieve cost efficiencies and drive action across all components of the group.
What we are looking for:
1. Demonstrable experience in procurement, with strong leadership experience.
2. Expert knowledge of UK procurement regulations, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
3. Proven track record of managing large-scale procurement projects.
4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
7. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
