We are looking to strengthen our Delivery team with a Project Engineer or Contracts Engineer based at Burham WSW, Kent, with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Project Manager and assist the Project / Construction Manager in coordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy. You will ensure that information is issued on time to enable construction, commissioning, and operation in line with the Contract Programme. Additionally, you will provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance.
2. Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date.
3. Ensure contract reviews and monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time.
4. Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
5. Assist with the Project Management strategy.
6. Establish and maintain the contract filing systems.
7. Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor the programme and produce progress reports.
8. Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals.
9. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
10. Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues.
11. Monitor subcontract performance.
12. Assist in the preparation of construction completion and takeover documentation.
13. Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, associations, and groups to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
14. Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
15. Undertake such other duties, training, or hours of work as may be reasonably required and consistent with the responsibilities of this role.
16. Present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment in all internal and external contacts, maintaining mutually constructive, positive, and beneficial relationships.
17. Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.
18. Work closely with design departments to ensure timely progress of quality solutions.
19. Evaluate innovative solutions and processes.
20. Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis.
21. Ensure designs are developed to be safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain.
