They are a leading company in the Manufacturing & Production sector, located in the town of Widnes, and are on the lookout for a talented Design Engineer to join their enthusiastic team.
This is a permanent, full-time position where your contributions will be valued and celebrated!
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on candidate experience.
Location: Widnes
Working Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm (flexible) PLUS AN EARLY FINISH ON A FRIDAY!
What You'll Do:
As a Design Engineer, you will:
1. Bring Ideas to Life: Transform concepts into reality through innovative design solutions that push boundaries.
2. Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and marketing to ensure your designs meet all requirements and exceed expectations.
3. Prototype and Test: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to refine designs and ensure optimal functionality.
4. Documentation: Create detailed design specifications and documentation to support manufacturing processes.
5. Stay Ahead of Trends: Research and implement the latest design technologies and trends to keep our products at the forefront of the industry.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field or equivalent experience.
2. Proficiency in CAD and CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to create 3D part models, complex assemblies, models and create manufacturing drawing from 3D models.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
6. A creative mindset with a keen eye for detail to design new hardware and meet customer specifications and ensure prints are correct and meet standards.
7. Ability to phase out old techniques and embrace new machine tools and processes.
8. Support business development and the shop floor production teams with material selection, material properties (metallic and non-metallics) and material processing.
