Hays are partnering with a successful regulated organisation to appoint a Strategy Manager on a permanent basis, paying between £50,000 to £55,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits.
This role will inform strategic thinking and decision making via the gathering and analysis of intelligence, ensuring alignment of the corporate plan and strategies.
Your new role
The Strategy Manager will lead on strategic analysis, distribution of intelligence, and provision of advice to inform strategic decision making. You will be responsible for ensuring the organisation's strategies are up to date externally and align with changes to regulation and public policy, providing briefings to senior leaders and board members regarding any updates from parliament, local and devolved governments. You will help shape the future strategy of the organisation, horizon scanning for new opportunities and possible risks. You will offer innovative insight to support the development and delivery of the corporate plan, whilst building solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the positioning and reputation of the organisation. You will lead the stakeholder management plan, engaging with key stakeholders to support clear communication and understanding of the corporate plan and strategies across the organisation. You will identify opportunities for the organisation to be heard in forums and research projects and will be tasked with providing up to date briefings and information about leading individuals and organisations. You will have line management responsibility for a member of staff.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience gained within a strategic management position supported by research experience and knowledge of external affairs and public policy, ideally within a public sector organisation, will lead to your success. You will be able to think strategically and will have a history of analysing insight and intelligence to make informed decisions, whilst being able to identify external opportunities and risk. You will be a positive individual and a natural influencer who can build partnerships and networks internally and externally, working with stakeholders up to executive level. You will ideally hold an external affairs or public policy qualification.
