Role: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Street Contract: Full time, long-term (opportunity to become permanent) Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour Long-Term Teachers are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team, making a real difference in the lives of young people. The school follows the Preparation for Adulthood framework, helping students develop essential life skills and work towards further education, employment or independent living. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Severe Learning Disabilities and additional complex needs Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons Support students in developing independence, communication and social skills Implement individual education plans (EHCPs) and behaviour support strategies Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff Assist with personal care and mobility support where required Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working with children and young people with SEND (preferred but not essential) - this is an excellent role for individuals from a care background Be patient, adaptable and enthusiastic about supporting student development Be comfortable in assisting with personal care needs if required Work well as part of a team, following guidance from teachers and specialists Have a willingness to undertake further training and professional development This role offers rewarding and meaningful work, with opportunities for career profession within a specialist education setting.
