Summary
Our client, a leading utilities company, is currently seeking an Ecological Clerk of Works to join their team on a Fixed Term Contract basis. This exciting opportunity will contribute to the construction phase of a high voltage direct current (HVDC) electrical project, set to commence in July 2025.
EGL2 is a 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) electrical 'superhighway' cable link to be built between Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and Drax in North Yorkshire, England. The construction phase of the project is due to commence in July 2025, with intrusive surveys beginning October 2024.
This role will be based within our team who are managing the southern onshore sections of the works (convertor station construction and associated wider works at Drax in North Yorkshire and 69km of onshore cables which are to be installed along a route arising from Fraisthorpe in the East Riding of Yorkshire and ending at the Drax convertor station site).
The role will begin in December 2024, and comprises working on-site Monday to Friday ensuring that the survey & construction phases of the works adhere to any ecological regulatory, planning and/or licensing requirements. The role will report into the Project Management team but will also have links to the Land and Consents teams and the Environment and Sustainability teams.
