Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Principal – SENDCO to lead the strategic development of our SEN across our school. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an exciting opportunity for an existing or aspiring senior leader to make a significant impact on the lives of students, promoting an inclusive learning environment that supports all learners at an exciting stage in the school's development. We welcome applications from existing or aspiring SENDCO's. For candidates without the SENDCO qualification you will be provided with access to the qualification and all candidates would receive full support from the United Learning inclusion lead.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of SEND and Inclusion policies in line with statutory requirements.
* Manage and coordinate Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and statutory assessments.
* Provide leadership to the SEND team, including Teaching Assistants and Learning Support staff.
* Oversee the effective use of resources and manage the SEND budget.
* Deliver high-quality teaching and maintain a small teaching commitment linked to the SEN role.
* Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for students with SEND.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status and a National Award for SEND Coordination (or a willingness to obtain it).
* Proven experience in a SENDCo or role within SEND/Inclusion in current role.
* Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
