Main duties of the job
As an Advanced Hand Therapist, you will: Deliver high quality, effective clinical care. As a Hand Therapist at Chichester Hospital, you will manage a complex clinical caseload of hand therapy patients referred from Consultants, GP's, PMI's or self referrals, as well as post-operative patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, AHP's and consultants, playing a key role in helping our patients recover to the level of health and wellbeing that they aspire to. You will liaise closely with our orthopaedic hand surgeons, running clinics alongside them. You will be expected to exercise a high degree of professional autonomy and integrity along with excellent communication skills and participate and provide support to the national Nuffield Health Hand Therapy network with regular supervision sessions. As an Advanced Hand Therapist, you will:

To succeed as our Advanced Hand Therapist, you will:
6. Have a BSc in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or equivalent and you'll be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
7. Demonstrate evidence of further professional hand therapy specific training and continual professional development, reflecting your desire to develop as a practitioner.
8. Have a minimum of 5 years experience working in the field of hand therapy with experience of leading a service desirable.
9. Be able to demonstrate excellent hand therapy and splinting skills.
10. Be a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with the general public and other healthcare professionals.
11. Be a competent and confident IT user with strong organisation skills
12. Have the ability to prioritise and deal with your varied workload in an effective and timely manner.
