Summary:
Quadris provides IT Managed Services and IT infrastructure solutions to customers across the UK, Europe, and APAC regions. Customers include private corporations and government organisations, mainly in the healthcare sector. Our IT infrastructure solutions primarily involve the Dell product range, Cisco networking, Citrix, Microsoft, and our Quadris Cloud and on-premise platform. As a Technical Engineer for Infrastructure, you are responsible for the implementation, management, and support of the IT infrastructure across our client base which includes traditional three-tier, hyperconverged and Multi-Tenant Cloud infrastructure environments. The role requires strong technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and a customer-centric mindset to deliver exceptional IT services and solutions to clients.
The successful candidate will work within a small but experienced team, technically led by the Infrastructure Solutions Competency Manager and senior engineers. While the primary focus is on server infrastructure, there will be opportunities to gain exposure to wider system design and implementation by shadowing senior team members on project work. A large part of this role involves documentation and record keeping; it is therefore essential that the candidate has proven excellent organisational skills.
The position offers some flexibility across various work environments, including customer sites, UK data centres, our Stockport office, and remote working from home. While you will have some autonomy to choose the most suitable location based on project needs and personal preferences, business needs will inform your location of work. Additionally, the role will require occasional travel across EMEA and the USA to support international projects or engage with global clients, providing opportunities for both professional growth and cross-cultural collaboration.
This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week, on a variety of shift patterns between our core hours of 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. (UK Time). There is also a requirement to work flexibly outside these core hours where required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Valid Driving licence and vehicle.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3. Solid experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
4. Knowledge of Linux operating systems and open-source technologies.
5. Experience racking, stacking, and cabling servers.
6. Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM for Linux-based environments).
7. Strong networking skills (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, firewall management).
8. Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam Backup, Commvault, or Nakivo for virtualized and physical environments.
9. Familiarity with storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS).
10. Proficient in VMware ESXi and VMware vCenter.
11. Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
12. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in your demonstrable work history.
13. Strong ability to produce clear and compliant documentation aligned with technical standards and best practices.
14. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, conversing at all levels with Customers, prospects and colleagues.
15. Comfortable working across multiple customers and projects.
16. Effective time management skills, ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure.
17. Ability to obtain SC and/or NPPV3 Clearance.
Highly Desirable Skills and Qualifications/Experience:
1. Experience working in an MSP or Professional Services organisation, with an understanding of ITIL principles and change management processes.
2. Knowledge of storage solutions including Dell EMC.
3. Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), including VxRail, VMware vSAN and Nutanix.
4. Hands-on experience in disaster recovery solutions and business continuity planning.
5. Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).
6. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent.
7. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent.
8. Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) in Debian-based environments (e.g., Ubuntu).
9. ITIL Foundation Certification (advantageous).
