The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Team Leader has an important role to play in the management of the team and supporting the production targets and objectives across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor output & respond to correct production issues/delays
2. Deliver high standards of quality and ensure deliveries are achieved
3. Manage and improve costs where possible
4. Implement standards operating procedures (SOP) where possible
5. Implement and drive continuous improvement within your department
6. Support other departments collaboratively when there are changes to customer demand
7. Ensure correct procedures are implemented and followed for all machinery and processes
8. Conduct all relevant HR processes such as absence management, return to work and disciplinary actions
9. Carry out skills training for team members to create a strong performing team
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
1. Minimum of two years within a manufacturing or process driven environment
2. Good in both written and oral skills
3. Computer literate
Desirable:
1. Health & Safety qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely
2. Management qualification (ILM Level 2/3)
3. Previous supervisory experience
4. Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, SMED, TPM and how to implement.
5. Understanding of HR policies and procedures
