Commercial Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join our team. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for providing Commercial Management services on large, complicated, and carefully selected projects, as well as providing commercial leadership to other members of the Galldris surveying team.
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
1. Commercially manage selected projects, protecting the business contractually whilst seeking opportunities to maximise profit and reduce cost.
2. Provide dynamic leadership to the Galldris Surveying Team ensuring project commercial objectives are clearly set out and understood.
3. Develop and maintain an excellent client working relationship ensuring the contractual requirements are understood and managed professionally and efficiently.
4. Lead by example and engender a safe working environment in all matters.
5. Produce concise, accurate, and timely commercial reports to the Galldris Board advising on the key issues on the Project(s).
6. Produce concise, accurate, and timely reports to the Client advising on the key commercial and contractual issues on the Project(s).
7. Adopt a proactive approach in all matters.
8. Ensure company procedures are understood and complied with.
9. Support the company in business development opportunities.
10. Manage the efficient closure of all matters including but not limited to final accounts, completion/sectional completion certificates, retention recovery, and commercial disputes.
11. Work with other department heads to determine company goals and KPIs.
12. Negotiate new projects and contract terms with new clients.
13. Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.
14. Comply with company policies & procedures.
Experience/Knowledge:
1. Previous experience in business development or marketing fields.
2. A proven history of successful leadership.
3. Possess a collaborative mindset and work well as part of a team.
4. Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines.
5. Up to date on industry trends, as well as laws and regulations.
6. Ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
2. Working towards professional qualification status (MCIOB/MRICS) (desirable).
Skills:
1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
2. Must be a strategic thinker and have strong negotiation skills.
3. Excellent organisational skills to balance and prioritise their workload and meet deadlines.
