We are seeking a qualified counsellor to be part of an established Counselling & Emotional Support Service, based within the Wellbeing Centre at the Dougie Mac Adult’s site. You will provide counselling and support to people experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties relating to palliative illness, loss, grief and bereavement. Within the established counselling team, you will be expected to work collaboratively to support the trainee volunteer bereavement counsellors on placement in the service. You will be confident and competent practitioner, offering a blended therapeutic approach to your work with patients, their families and carers, which may include children and young people (16 years and above), across the Community and Inpatient Unit services. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with a motivation for continual learning and development. You will be expected to share your skills and knowledge within your team, across the Hospice and with patients, families and carers whether this be in a one-to-one, or group setting.
