We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Investment and Development Finance team in this new role as Strategic Finance Business Partner – Investment. Working in partnership with the Strategic Asset Management Director and senior management team in Investment & Development, you'll formulate the strategic asset management finance agenda, contributing to strategic decision making, performance management and risk mitigation planning. With offices in Bristol, Basingstoke and Wembley, we can be flexible on your base location. You'll share your time between the office and home, as well as some travel being required between our offices. The Role Reporting into the Investment & Development Finance Director, you'll lead commercial finance decision support and performance management for investment and divestment activity, managing the financial performance of c. £100-200m of disposal activity per annum, capex of c. £50-100m per annum and an overall £1.5bn 30 year retrofit programme. You'll provide timely, accurate and comprehensive internal financial information, commercial financial advice, project appraisal and financial analysis to managers and senior executive team in relation to investment and divestment activity. Main responsibilities include: Providing commercial and financial advice and insight into the strategic asset management disposals and retrofit programmes, considering overall portfolio risk and impact, contingency planning and alignment with investment strategy Communicating complex technical accounting and tax information and guidance, working collaboratively with wider finance technical experts to interpret financial and tax impacts and give advice on the optimum approach to strategic asset management proposals Providing concise insight briefings to senior managers, focusing on deal structure, tax implications, key risks and mitigations, and return measures such as residual land value, profit margins, peak debt, ROCE, IRR, and NPV Leading financial decision support for new project submissions, challenging assumptions, identifying risks and any areas for outperformance Driving financial performance and managing risk by business partnering with the strategic asset management team and delivering insightful forward looking Management reporting Leading the budgeting and forecasting of disposals, asset management initiatives and commercial property performance Undertaking portfolio analysis for the group, as well as managing the annual commercial property valuation alongside the commercial property lead What we need from you You'll be a fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with significant experience providing commercial financial advice, strategic decision support, and financial appraisal modelling within the wider the Real Estate or Social Housing sectors.
